FAQ

Answers for readers, writers, and teams

The basics on plans, privacy, exports, billing, and how Zeitbook handles the books you generate.

What is Zeitbook?

Zeitbook is a platform for generating place-rooted books, managing private and public releases, and exporting finished work in multiple formats.

Do I need an account to browse books?

No. Public catalog pages can be read without signing in. You need an account to create books, manage privacy, react to books, and request certain exports.

How do plans work?

Plans define request limits, chapter caps, billing amounts, and privacy behavior. Free accounts start with lower limits. Paid plans can include higher throughput and books that stay private by default.

Can I switch plans later?

Yes. Upgrades are applied through Stripe. Upgrades can be prorated immediately, while lower-cost or shorter-interval changes are scheduled for the end of the current billing period.

What happens to my books if I stay on the free plan?

Completed books on the free plan may enter a decision window before becoming public. Paid plans can keep newly generated books private by default.

Which export formats are supported?

Depending on plan and permissions, Zeitbook can provide EPUB, PDF, and Markdown exports for completed books.

Can staff change plan rules?

Yes. Plans are stored in the database and can be edited by staff, including pricing, Stripe price IDs, and policy limits.

Where can I read the legal terms?

See the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
